CARSON & BARNES CIRCUS is known for the horrific undercover elephant training video showing elephants being electric shocked and beaten. In the video trainer Tim Frisco tells the handlers,
"Don't
touch 'em, hurt 'em. Make 'em scream. If you're scared to hit 'em,
don't come into the barn. You can't do it on the road. I'm not gonna
touch her in front of a thousand people. She's gonna f--king do what I
want and that's just f--king the way it is."
Tim Frisco still works for Carson & Barnes. You can view the video below.
Carson
& Barnes Circus forces elephants, horses, dogs and other animals to
perform. They also subject ponies to being tied to a merry-go-round set
up and they put a hippo on exhibit.

Circus Vazquez: Background on Animals Exploited
Vazquez is the circus that, in 2008, was responsible for a tiger being mauled to death after cramming six tigers in one, small cage. In addition, Vazquez uses a number of animals including tigers, camels, zebras, horses, ponies and dogs.
Circus Vazquez may or may not have elephants this year. If they do they will be Hanneford elephants.
All elephants are, of course,
treated
horribly in circuses and Hanneford is no exception. The
Hanneford Family Circus' three elephants— "Carol," "Liz"
and "Patty"— previously traveled with Vazquez Circus.
During an inspection by the U.S. Department
of Agriculture, a veterinarian noted, "problems with foot
conditions, of all three elephants." In 1990, Carol crushed a circus
worker to death.
(side note: In 2005, AR folks in Florida managed to get Hanneford kicked out of a gig they had for 15 years at Fort Lauderdale's Swap shop flea market.)
